I've heard Bruce, but I had to look up Escher. Have you heard of Zdzisław Beksiński? I have one of his pictures, my gf bought it for me. He does some fantastically weird shit. Haven't watched much of Lenny Bruce. I've seen a few YT clips about him being censored and stuff. Comedy on proper TV these days is fucking awful. Not a laugh to be had.
