In a deleted topix thread about Sinhalese Tamil intermarriage the posters brought up Sinhalese folks being light skinned.it's been like 9-10 years so of course I can't remember the exact details but going by my discernment I guess some folks in the Tamil community were fetishizing the sinhala people for light skin.not sure how light skinned Sinhalese people are

Also I recently saw a Nigerian woman mention how she was many Nigerian men fetishizing Ethiopian and Somali women.apparent some black brits of Caribbean descent also do that too.it makes me think that it has less to do with European colonialism and more of some basic primal urges in other words they just simply find them sexy

Even in my own birth country the official dialect is Tosk.has been since communist times.the folks barely understand my dialect as I shown no interest or skill in speaking in their dialect.lol I was understood better when I spoke in English with a few folks.actually my dialect is stereotyped as uneducated and savage :)
