I always thought that to be true ~~~ that a birthday is uniquely ours and it is our choice to share it the way we see fit. So many holidays we have to give up a piece of ourselves and become part of that unfolding event (for the sake of enjoying it with others) ~~~ but a birthday we can choose to do what we want with it. Just a cupcake and you'll need to supply the candles, but let the wish you make upon it guide you well going forward. Happy Birthday, Mark!
