Lack of magnesium can contribute to muscle spasms and nighttime leg cramps, though clinical studies show that magnesium supplements do not help everyone.

How Magnesium Affects Muscles

• Nerve and Muscle Function: Magnesium helps regulate muscle contraction and nerve transmission by keeping calcium balanced in and out of cells. When magnesium drops, muscles and nerves can become overly excitable, leading to cramps or twitches.
• Connection to Deficiency: Very low levels of magnesium (hypomagnesemia) can trigger leg cramps, muscle pain, and general weakness.

What the Science Says

• General Studies: Many clinical trials and reviews have found that oral magnesium supplements work no better than a placebo for stopping routine nighttime or exercise-induced leg cramps in the general population

I liked all of Priests' early stuff; I had about 7 albums. I got fucked off with the newer stuff, which was very repetitive

Feeling great today, I treated myself to an hour-long reflexology session. It's true about how the feet can relieve sore shoulder and necks; I twisted lying in bed the wrong way

Give the song 'Children of the Grave' a listen. But to be truthful, Heaven and Hell is my favourite album of them

Where were you, and how did you react?

I was just reflecting on what a privilege it was—
and how proud we can be—to have been born in 1982.
When the Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War came to an end,
we were seven years old. We hadn’t really experienced much of what came before that;
instead, we grew up through our later childhood and adolescence
surrounded by the freedom of the 1990s—a time defined by a sense of ease,
so much joy, and so much peace. That window of time didn’t truly close until 2001,
when we entered a different era—by which point we were 19 years old. From age 7 to 19—what a privilege that was.
It was also a time before the overwhelming presence of modern media
—a time before computers, the internet, and smartphones—a period that felt almost timeless.

Where were you in 2001, when that carefree era came to an end? Do you remember that day? What was it like for you?
