Irish is compulsory in schools here. There was a push recently, to have it removed from the curriculum, like Latin had been, but it was resisted. If you want to be a teacher in a public school here, you have to be fluent in the language. Well, primary (elementary) school teachers anyway. But they usually have to teach it. Irish is actually structured more like French, so I found German easier in school, since it's related to English. It's very hard to describe what Irish sounds like. It doesn't really sound like any other language. There's a lot of pushing your tongue against the roof of your mouth in Irish. It's sounds every so slightly like Danish or Dutch to my ear. But that's just my ear. Scots Gaelic is a derivative of Irish, so it sounds very similar. It's basically a Caledonian dialect of Irish. So I sometimes wonder what Pictish would have sounded like. Welsh is it's own language entirely. Manx is a language that I have never heard spoken. The English too, speak different kinds of English from one region to another. Some of their dialects are almost indecipherable to an untrained ear.

Very true. You never really know who you're talking to on these sites. I for one though am pretty open about who I am. I don't feign interest in anything that doesn't hold it. But get me engaged on something that I do have an interest in, and there's no shutting me up. I agree with you though, I have been very surprised by the occasional intelligent comment made by trolls on these sites who had always passed themselves off as stupid. So you just never know.
I used to be exactly like you. Looking for stimulation online. I get some from JP and yourself, but that's about it. Then I just gave up. Which contradicts what I said earlier about not joining them, I know.
Ned definitely thinks he's funnier than he is. Although, I think he's realized that lately, as he's not really making the effort anymore. He once told me that brevity is wit, which is only sometimes true. The wit has to come first, otherwise all you've got is the brevity.
I wouldn't say that Matt was a Christian snob as such. He just didn't tolerate profanity on his page. But he didn't ram his faith down people's throats like JDB. Not that I believe for one second, that he's a true man of faith. People are strange. Lizette suddenly stopped talking to me on Dullspot as soon as Matt showed up. When I confronted her on it, she accused me of ignoring her, jesus. Robin used not say a single word to me on US years ago. Then in the last year or so, she really started to gravitate toward me. In fact, she'd get impatient with me if I didn't reply to her quickly enough. Maybe she needs someone to lean on. I know that she has physical ailments. Or maybe I was simply filling a void for Lizzette and Robin, that had been left by Matt.
Yea I've seen vids of Em before. Poor woman has issues, no doubt about it. She's as paranoid as it gets. Also, she hasn't a clue how computers or hacking works. She used to accuse me of hacking her computer through US all the time lol
