Tight arsed? Truth be told, you're being forthright in your concern for the sake of you and your wife ~~~ judicious in your spending, so to speak. It's easy for other people to say that they could or would spend the money, but it is not their money to spend. I was the first person in my immediate family to graduate from college, but I am not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Perhaps, it's just a fortunate happening. My parents weren't able to afford the tuition et al ~~~ everyone always thought sports would pay my way, but it was an academic scholarship that paid the bill. But the answer is NO ~~~ you're just being HONEST with the concern that his future does not come at the expense of your hard-fought-for retirement.
