There's some cool cars! Not sure you meant with the skating comment. Are you referring to ice, roller, or skateboarding? I can do all three, but have not been on ice skates in a long time.
When I was in Middle School, our local mall had a huge ice rink right as you walked in across from the movie theater and we used to spend almost every afternoon there with the girls, lol!

This is the best time of the year to visit the coast other than spring, since the weather is about the same all the way from inland to the coast. As you probably already know, most of the year the beaches are overcast or foggy especially during the summer due to the hot weather inland. We absolutely love autumn!

i watched this TV series as a kid, it was in production at that time.
i'd record the audio from TV episodes onto my ancient cassette tape recorder.
i'd listen to many times again and again and do my own copycat British accents .

In the *Andromeda* science fiction universe, one particular idea struck me:
Constantine Stark—known as "the Patriarch"—leads the Templars. He presents himself as someone who takes action precisely where the official order fails.
He explains to Dylan, in essence, that his people fight the battles that others are unable to wage.
At first glance, this sounds like decisive action against a genuine threat.
However, the Geneten develop a virus capable of wiping out nearly all of humanity. The Patriarch does not merely seek to secure this virus; he has an agenda of his own.
Dylan gradually realizes that he is not dealing with a simple ally, but rather with someone who is exploiting a shared threat to further his own quest for power. Similarly, Putin may be correct in some of his specific criticisms of Western policy, yet that does not make his decisions to wage war any more justified.
Likewise, Washington may level valid criticisms against Russia, but that does not absolve it of pursuing its own self-interests.
Constantine Stark (the Patriarch) vs. Putin as a geopolitical actor:
Both invoke a real, existing threat. Both cite national (or, in Putin’s case, Russian) security interests.
Both distrust the established official order; both criticize the Western-led security framework.
Both claim the right to act independently. Both assert a special role for their side—in Putin’s case, a special Russian role—within the European security order. Both pursue their own private objectives under the guise of a common mission. Both link arguments about security to their own agendas regarding power and territorial interests.

Putin
2024
“When German tanks appeared on Ukrainian soil for the first time, it triggered a moral and ethical shock in Russia, as relations with Germany had always been very good within Russian society.”
2001:
“Europe will only be able to consolidate its reputation as a powerful and independent center of global politics in the long term if it combines its own capabilities with Russia’s human, territorial, and natural resources, as well as with Russia’s economic, cultural, and defense potential"

2001, i agree. But their form of GOV'T is a criminal organization.
you can't be friends with people (their govt) who don't share basic ideals and human decency and potential trust.

So, Jim—the symbol of the day, which you get to explain to me. Today’s question: why do you feature Putin so often in your videos? What goes through your mind when you think of Putin?
