GERMANY’S €46BN TAX BOOST AIMS TO SHOCK ECONOMY BACK TO LIFE
Germany’s about to pump €46 billion in tax cuts straight into the veins of its sluggish economy.
Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil is pushing this package of sweet breaks, lower corporate taxes, big deductions on shiny new machines and electric cars, to jolt growth and make Berlin the place to be for business.
But it’s not a magic bullet.
With China muscling in and energy costs still biting, Germany needs more than a tax sugar rush.
Will this be enough, or just another patch on a struggling giant?
