ATTACKER AT GERMAN FESTIVAL SHOUTED “ALLAHU AKBAR”
According to the initial police report, witnesses heard the attacker shouting the phrase:
“A witness who was injured in the attack stated that the unknown suspect was 'known from Solingen' and that he was also a visitor to a local mosque.
A witness reported that the suspect shouted 'Allahu Akbar' during his actions.”
Police have so far refused to say what they believe the motive for the attack that killed 3 people was.
Chairman of the North Rhine-Westphalia Police Union:
“Even if we have to assume that it was an attack, we do not yet know what the motivation behind it was.”
