I can see that, how mass would be a source of comfort for you, the fact that it's the same everywhere provides you with a sense of continuity or consistency perhaps? Maybe those aren't the right words, but I get you. Believe it or not I can understand that. Catholic masses just seem a little dull and repetitive to me, compared with the more lively Evangelical sermons you have in America. But in a similar sort of way, science provides me with the same kind of comfort. Knowing that we are all made of star stuff. That when a star died, and went nova, that process gave birth to our sun, and when our sun goes nova, it too will give birth to more stars...and on and on it goes. We are all made of stars, and stars reincarnate themselves.

That's interesting. So he switched over to Catholicism. I must admit, I don't know much about the Jehovah's Witnesses, just the knocking on people's doors stuff. From what you say, they must be more regimented than Catholic's. I can't remember what age I was when I stopped going to mass, maybe 14? I retained a sense of a higher power long after I stopped practicing the faith I was baptized into. It's never completely left me, I'm just not into all the trappings of organized religion. However...I then look at how the natural world works, how everything eats everything else, and I have my doubts. The natural world is so very cruel.

Yes I got a job. I do graphic design work for a company, from home. As a matter of fact, I have some work I need to get done today. Before that, a friend of mine was bringing in work. He's a painter and decorator. He would get jobs redesigning store fronts. I would take a photograph of the store front, and design the new sign, logo, paint scheme on the doors etc on my computer, so that the owner could see what it would look like before it was finished. Then my friend would do the job. But this job I'm doing now is better.
