I saw the very first one in the cinema years ago. I haven't seen any of the sequels, but I'll jump ahead to 9 if you'd recommend it. I have still...yet to watch the Irishman, and it's been available for over a year now. Btw, what's with all the reboots of Batman? I see that Colin Farrell is the Penguin in this new one. They wouldn't let him smoke though, ffs this is getting ridiculous! For example, I was watching an episode of Picard on Amazon Prime the other night, and one of the warnings which appeared near the top of the screen as the episode started...along with violence and strong language, was..."smoking". That's because one of the characters in it smokes a cigar. (sigh) what have we come to.
