I never gave them the name,they just simply called themselves that though older generation rusyns call themselves rusnaks and the areas they lived was called lemkovina.kinda confusing but they are divided into the subgroups of lemkos,boykos,hutsuls,sometimes gorals and rusyns.The Greek Catholic church of Slovakia is in fact rusyn dominated though the priests encouraged slovakization back in the 2000s and many rusyns in Slovakia during the hapsburg rule became Catholic and identified as Slovak just to have a easier life.in fact it almost caused the community to be extinct or near extinction

Many rusyns also lived in Poland though their native province somewhere in southeastern Poland is now mostly polish due to the ww2 population exchange and resettlements where the Germans left west Poland and they needed people to inhabit then abandoned houses

I don't know about navolny or in russia,I know rusyns can be found in Ukraine especially zakarpatia oblast where they go back and forth between speaking Ukrainian and rusyn.I know eastern Slovakia has lots especially the mountainous villages and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is the rusyn American capital even the Greek Catholic priests have roots from slovakia.I know many rusyn Americans converted to the Russian orthodox faith

Dobro Igor,lol no rusyns are the orthodox Christians and Greek Catholics that speaks eastern slavic language that resembles Ukrainian more than Russian and they live in central Europe,they were encouraged by the magyars to settle on the border regions a thousand years ago due to it being flat land that could be easily invaded so rusyns are mountainous somewhat warrior folk and many of not all of them are part Aromanian due to Aromanians being orthodoxs,peasants and not being centralized as a collective just like how most Bosnian Serb and Croatian Serbs have Aromanian blood.for example Andy Warhol is of lemko heritage a rusyn subgroup but his family came from Slovakia
