I have to say I had 8 labs in the last 30 years and they had all passed around 12, i never had one that made it to 13. so they kept the dog unsupervised in their property,. they found him 12 miles away and the law said they were supposed to keep him for 48 hours unless the animal is in distress and;/or aggressive or fragile . They put the dog to sleep w in 24 hours because he was old and incontinent . Tragic , the chip was not current and mistakes were made but at the end of the day it's the owner to keep the dog safe . As far as it goes the dog could had been run over by a car. now the owners have a go fund me account going to sue the animal shelter for putting the dog down and not waiting 48 hours. I find the whole thing ridiculous. I can't stand people who don't take responsablity for their shortcomings.
