The A23a iceberg broke off the coast of Antarctica only in 1986. But the journey of this iceberg has started in the last few days.

For more than 30 years, this iceberg has been sitting like an island of ice in the mud at the bottom of the Weddell Sea. After slowly melting by 2020, the iceberg began to float and slide again. Initially, this sliding speed was slow. But then now due to water currents and winds it is blowing towards the warm air and water.
The A23a glacier is larger than 29 countries in the world. It also includes Luxembourg, Bahrain and Singapore.
