That's a good question, Ned. I'm not sure if it's an intended effect ~~~ THE POWERS THAT BE ... do they do things with the intent of shaping the world's outcome or our perception of those outcomes? Are things done just for the influence of our reactions? We have two active wars and a few proxy situations unfolding around the globe. And the state-of-the-art weaponry has the ability to take us out. Although, one hopes not. America's political discord doesn't help either. Some think I am odd to state this, but I think an outside entity (another worldly extraterrestrial) will be the ones that show us our errant way and, possibly, save us from ourselves.
