The resistance to Columbus Day is somewhat big here and with the Wampanoag Tribe voicing their concern. I can understand their hesitancy to celebrate someone tied to their decline, but I feel like we live in a society where we constantly have to apologize for who we are and how we got here. I say fix what the fuck is broke present day and then worry about making amends for past mistakes and those that should be borne by those who now predecease us.
