'Tis the byproduct of a few things; a mother who was a school librarian, a father who didn't like sports (but, regardless, let me play), and being raised in an environment that was somewhat idyllic. Back to my Dad ~~~ the rule was quite simple; if I wanted to play sports (which I did), I had to keep up my grades. Of course, the schoolyard fantasy of playing PRO SPORTS didn't pan out ... but I did have my undergraduate degree (UMass Lowell) paid by an academic scholarship. So, kudos to my parents for keeping my head straight, food in my belly, and clothes on my back.

It's funny ~~~ when you're younger, you're full of piss and vinegar ... you figure you have the whole world figured out and think you're not beholden to those who came before you. It's only as you age do you realize how significant the quiet sacrifices of another truly were. You find yourself unable to thank them ~~~ so you try to thank them by living a good life. :)

So, YEAH, we find ourselves at the calling of another weekend ~~~ ENJOY yours ... for this Summer seems hellbent on handing the reins over to a new Autumn.
