The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles Brown, warned that any extension of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on the northern border would threaten the entire region and make it harder for the U.S to protect Israel.

He said the chances are increasing that Iran will choose to enter into a direct war with Israel in the event of a war between the IDF and Hezbollah, especially if they fear that Hezbollah is in danger.
