liebe RINY, mich hat es wohl erwischt, ich habe halsschmerzen und
mir geht es nicht gut. - ich weiss nicht wie lange das noch so geht,
aber ich werde versuchen am mittwoch wieder hier zu sein, vielleicht

I recently heard from a friend from Belgium
the story of why Belgium and the Netherlands separated in the 19th century.
Partly because of the language, as many Belgians speak French, and partly because the Belgians were Catholic and the Netherlands Protestant.

What do you think about that?
Did you learn anything like that in school?
My friend is actually from the Congo, but she and her family have been living in Belgium for a long time,
dating back to the colonial era.

Nun habe ich die erste Arbeitswoche hinter mir und genieße heute meinen freien Tag

Nächste Woche kommt meine Schwester Carmen in die Niederlande und wir treffen uns in der Nähe von Venlo.
Mein jüngerer Bruder hat das Treffen eingefädelt. Ich habe sie noch nie vorher kennengelernt und ich bin sehr gespannt
wie sie sein wird. Ich habe noch drei Schwestern und drei lebenden Brüder. Alles halb Geschwister.

Sie ist die letzte jetzt die Ich noch nicht kennengelernt habe. Sie lebt eigentlich in England. Wir treffen uns von Mittwoch bis Freitag.

I've just finished my first week at work
and am enjoying my day off today.

Next week my sister Carmen is coming to the Netherlands,
and we're meeting near Venlo.
My younger brother arranged the meeting.

As I said, I've never met her before, and I'm really excited to see what she'll be like. I have three sisters and three living brothers. All half-siblings. She's the last one I haven't met yet. She actually lives in England. We'll meet from Wednesday to Friday.
