I'd say that the extra 45 minutes adds a certain element not so much in character development, but, perhaps, as it relates to Character Motivation. I'd say that your friend distancing himself is most likely related to his Mother's passing. Every time I see groups of Americans attacking each other, I always think "divide and conquer". ..it always goes through my mind. Who is creating the divide, who wants us divided, who has the power to spread the info that enrages ppl to divide into opposing camps? Our strength is weakened by division. ..esp between the sexes. Unlike some ppl I don't think women can do or even want to do what men can. Women aren't signing up to work on oil rigs too much lol, or dealing w high voltage wires high off the ground. They can be trained, but don't want to. I'm trying to say we need men, and hopefully they still appreciate women for the best of us and not the militant feminazis.
