Zesty deer jerky that you can make at home in your oven. If you have a food dehydrator, you can dry the venison by following the manufacturer's instructions. You can also reuse the marinade for additional batches.

Prep Time:
20 mins
Cook Time:
6 hrs
Additional Time:
8 hrs
Total Time:
14 hrs 20 mins
Servings:
8

Ingredients

4 tablespoons soy sauce

4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring

1 tablespoon ketchup

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon onion salt

1 pound boneless venison roast

Combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion salt in a large releasable plastic bag; set aside.

Slice venison into long strips, 1-inch wide and 1/8-inch thick. Add strips to marinade and seal the bag. Refrigerate 8 hours to overnight, kneading occasionally to evenly distribute marinade.

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Place a pan or aluminum foil on the oven floor to catch drippings.

Remove venison from the marinade and shake off excess.

Arrange venison on a wire rack in a single layer and dehydrate in the preheated oven until desired texture is achieved, 6 to 8 hours.

when i was growing up my back yard led right into a park called penny pack park.... Hunting was not allowed but my next door neighbor killed a deer with his bow and arrow.... he dragged it right back to his back yard and it was laying there dead..... someone called the police on him and he got in trouble..... I think he got a fine for it lol

i dont think most Americans butcher their own deer... they usually take their killings to someone

who skinned and gutted the deer? Did you do it yourself or take it to a butcher?

oh oops, well its still a nice fridge then lol. But thats what i need in my garage is a freezer! Ive created so much space in there, its like a totally different room after the landlords finally removed all their crap. I have enough floor space for a freezer now, plus the snowblower too. I almost have enough room to park two cars now. Its my favorite space in the entire house lol.

ok I better go, Ive got a few things to do myself, but its always nice chatting w you Crevo! Nice to see you, ') catch you next time. :)
