I know exactly what you mean. I moved up to the mountains and have met some really nice ppl, ..great neighbors too. We watch each others houses and knock on doors to borrow a cup o' sugar lol. But honestly I dont know a whole lot about them. My closest "tribe" as we call each other, go all the way back to high school. 5 including me, and Id be there in a minute if any of them they called and they've done the same for me. ..the bond remains.

My friend I lost a few months ago, she was quite a bit older than me, but we were instantly friends and I considered her one of my closest allies, even tho I met her much later in life. She was older wiser ... more educated and well traveled. Like almost a mentor. Its rare to find ppl who just meld right away but I was lucky to meet her.
