I mentioned the fire extinguisher in case you see a car fire or something and make sure it is secure...also if I was you I would overlook the roads you will be taking as far as a tangible map and alternate roads And be aware that there is A Lot of crazy shit that happens on the road...there are actually Truck Drivers who ate serial killers No Lie..look it up...I wouldn't recommend rest stops alone

Texas is big used to drive over there every summer...if you think California is a long drive Texas is another beast
