In Argentina they have La San Muerte a male skeleton in a robe.also associated with criminals there too.both have been negatively sensationalized due to reports/stories of human sacrifices involved

I never asked any Latinos here about ayahuasca.I do not encounter Borri’s here much,just off the boat Dominicans.in fact one restaurant here had a server who only spoke Spanish and I had to get someone to translate so definitely a language barrier

Plus there’s a few Seventh Day Adventist churches near by that offer mass in Spanish with even Spanish language billboards outside so it’s not the right environment to spread awareness about Ayahuasca unless it’s one if those hypocritical Christian kind of folk

Santa Muerte is supposed to be a neutral figure who will help anyone in need doesn’t matter who they are,they can be from all walks of life

Santa Muerte has Approximately 10 to 15 Million followers give or take since most Santa Muerte Followers identify as Catholic and even many or most of the rituals are carbon copy of Catholic Mass rituals

It’s also commonly found in places filled with Mexican immigrants like in Texas and California

It’s not commonly found in Norte Mexico but more so in South ( religion around death is a common theme in Indigenous Mexican culture and history)
