It's a tribalistic system where multigenerational households are the norm,it was socialized among us folks that and I used my mother's benefit card to buy coffee and the rent in this ny building is a lot cheaper due to her being here so there's that factor tehe

Plus it's very hard to find a caregiver who speaks Albanian :(,I just turned 27 and It feels like I never got to be in my prime,I know that may sound selfish to some but what should I do cheryl?wait till I'm 56 to live the best I can while the aging process occurs to me and I loose more energy and other stuff that comes along with getting older :T

The term caregiver makes it sound like there's some money involved,not so much of a caregiver,it's simply I'm from what they would call a old world culture meaning its expected for the children to help out with the elderly meaning its cheaper/almost free lol though my sister helps quite a lot if not more than me,traditionally the youngest son and his wife would help out the ailing parent but I'm gay and I already have some nurturing/traditionally feminine traits to begin with so I helped out as much as I could with the laundry,helping her get up when her arthritis kicks in,getting her medication you know the usual routine that comes with living with a elderly parent

Not sure what province in Canada that you are from, but I am lucky to have met a few Canadian friends (one from Vancouver and the other from outside of Calgary). Sometimes ppl on the edge will use abandoned house to make flop houses to party down so that might get risky running into any of that scene..

thanks cheryl,I'm just psychologically exhausted living in ny with a elderly mother who doesn't speak english.my sister ordered a walker for her since her main doctor took a while to send out a prescription and the closest pharmacies to buy walkers are miles apart and since this is corona time I can't be aloof and walk outside freely like before not to mention there's another private pharmacy that took awhile to find,but so far she hasn't been using the one already here,I hope you and your mother are doing a okay in this covid nightmare
